About the Initiative

Stethoscope 2026 is a social commitment initiative by the College Students Union — students helping students navigate the uncertainty after NEET UG 2026.

Background & Purpose

The unprecedented developments surrounding NEET UG 2026 and the subsequent Re-NEET examination have left thousands of medical aspirants in a state of uncertainty regarding the next steps in their academic and professional journey.

Many students and parents are struggling with critical decisions — interpreting scores and ranks, understanding counselling and seat-allotment processes, weighing the option of a repeat attempt, and preparing for the proposed shift of NEET to a computer-based test (CBT) format from next year.

As students who have successfully navigated this very path, the College Students Union proposes a one-day guidance programme where our MBBS students share their experience and provide guidance to NEET 2026 aspirants and their parents — reflecting the social commitment of our institution.

Government Medical College, Kozhikode

Government Medical College, Kozhikode (also known as Calicut Medical College) is one of Kerala's premier medical institutions. Established in 1957, it has been a centre of medical education, patient care, and social responsibility for nearly seven decades.

The institution has consistently produced doctors who serve across Kerala, India, and globally. Its Students Union has a long tradition of organising initiatives that extend beyond the classroom — from community health camps to awareness drives and now, guidance programmes for the next generation of medical aspirants.

Stethoscope 2026 continues this tradition — bringing the institution's social commitment to the service of NEET aspirants and parents who need clear, honest, and experienced guidance at a critical juncture.

The College Students Union

The College Students Union is the elected representative body of MBBS students at Government Medical College, Kozhikode. Beyond representing student interests in academic and campus matters, the Union organises cultural festivals, sports events, and community initiatives.

Stethoscope 2026 is a Union-led initiative, conceived and organised entirely by current MBBS students — from programme design and content to logistics, registrations, and the one-to-one counselling desks. Every student volunteer you meet on 23 July is there because they want to help.

The Union respectfully seeks the Principal's kind permission to conduct this programme on campus. All arrangements — including the auditorium, seating, and audio setup — are the Union's full responsibility, and the programme will cause no disruption to academic activities or patient care.
